Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies are, which kinds our site may use and how you can control them. It complements the privacy policy, which describes in full what data we process and what rights you have.
What cookies are
Cookies are very small text files that a site stores in your browser. On later visits the browser sends the file back, and the site uses it to remember simple things: the language you chose, the fact that you dismissed a message or, in an online store, the products in your cart.
A cookie is not a program. It cannot run code on your computer and it cannot read files from it. Related technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage or tracking pixels — work in a similar way and fall under the same rules described here.
The cookies we use
We group them by the job they do:
- Strictly necessary — they make the site work: they remember the language, protect the contact form against automated submissions and keep your session if you log in to the admin area. Without them pages misbehave, which is why these are the only ones set without your consent.
- Preferences — they remember convenience choices, such as options ticked in a form or messages you have already closed.
- Statistics — they show us, in aggregate, which pages are read and where visitors come from, so we can improve the content. They do not identify you personally.
- Marketing — third-party platforms set these when we run campaigns, so results can be measured. We only use them with your consent.
Cookies in the last three groups are set only after you give your consent, and you can refuse them at any time without making the site unusable.
Cookies set by third parties
Some pages may embed content hosted elsewhere: maps, web fonts, videos or social media buttons. The providers of those services can set their own cookies, which are outside our control. How they process data is described in their own policies, and we recommend reading them before you accept.
How long they stay on your device
Session cookies delete themselves when you close the browser. Persistent ones stay for a set period — usually between a few days and twelve months — and then expire automatically. You can always delete them sooner, straight from your browser.
How to control them
You have two ways to do it:
- Through the consent banner shown on your first visit, where you can accept or refuse each category separately and change your choice later.
- Through your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies for one site or for all of them — the section is usually called “Privacy and security” in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge alike.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, some features — sending the contact form, for example — may stop working.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we change the tools used on the site. Do come back to it now and then; the version published here is always the one in force.
